Cabin Counselors

Job Description Summary
Community:
Camp Marshall is a community experience where all staff are with each other for an entire summer. Each week the staff will see a new group of campers, while concurrently, a deeper community will form among the staff. While each staff person has a role or specialty area such as Cabin Counselor, the larger role is one of everyone doing their part by living in community. It is that “intentionality of life together” where you might find yourself helping in the kitchen, campfire and or evening programming.
Counselors directly supervise campers and are responsible to lead groups of campers in daily camp activities. Counselors lead and motivate campers, and facilitate safe group interactions to foster campers’ social, spiritual, physical, and intellectual growth. Responsibilities include creating a strong and safe cabin community, giving attention to the needs of individual campers, supporting program staff in teaching activities during the day including, but not limited to, archery, arts & crafts, fishing, challenge course activities, water sports, field games, hiking, music, and possible overnight camping trips off site and serving as a positive role model for campers. Counselors help to lead Bible Studies and small group reflection with campers during each camp session and will help to lead worship at least once during each camp session.
As a Cabin Counselor, you will work with other counselors and program staff assigned to your group to help craft a weekly schedule, including day camps, for the campers/families you are assigned. Working in concert with different program specialists, such as Arts and Crafts, Waterfront or Media you will seek to foster the development of Christian Community while providing “context” for our life in Christ through programs. Cabin Counselors will oversee daily engagement with their campers, upkeep of camp facilities, and cabin devotional practices.

Program Team Leader (Two Openings - One Male - One Female)

Job Description: Summary
Community: Camp Marshall is a community experience where all staff are with each other for an entire summer. Each week the staff will see a new group of campers, while concurrently a deeper community will form among the staff. While each staff person has a role or specialty area, such as Program Team Leader, the larger role is one of everyone doing their part by living in community. It is that “intentionality of life together” where you might find yourself helping in the kitchen, campfire, evening programming.
There will be two Team Leaders for the summer. One will focus on younger campers, grades 3 – 5, and the other grades 6 – 8. The decision on which group you lead will be made during Staff Training. *It is helpful to know if you have a preferred age group. During other weeks, such as family camp or Sr. High, we will have two program teams that will each be led by a Team Leader.
As a Program Team Leader, you will work with the counselors assigned to you to develop a weekly schedule, including day camps, for the campers/families you are assigned. Waterfront Director

Job Description Summary:
Camp Marshall’s Waterfront Director is responsible for planning and implementing and overseeing Camp Marshall’s waterfront programs, including swimming, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, sailing, boating, and fishing. *Some of these programs are considered specialized and will require documentation of experience and or instructor rated certification (or other acceptable license) for watercraft activities being taught. Camp Marshall will work with the Waterfront Director to obtain certification(s) pre-season if it is possible.

Arts & Crafts Director

Arts and Crafts Director
Job Description Summary:

Each week the staff will see a new group of campers while concurrently a deeper community will form among the staff. While each staff person has a role or specialty area such as Arts and Crafts Director, the larger role is one of everyone doing their part by living in community. It is that “intentionality of life together” where you might find yourself helping in the kitchen, campfire, evening programming.
The Arts & Crafts Director will organize and facilitate opportunities for campers to work in a variety of mediums and will encourage campers to experiment by using art to respond to scripture and experience at camp. The Arts and Crafts Director will provide guidance for campers with a focus on teaching a progression of art skills.
Understanding: Cultivating an understanding of “ability” with staff and campers in art and craft skills. An awareness of skills, along with the sensitivity to be careful with a potentially new artist.
Projects must be reasonable in size and scope so that they will be completed before heading home.

Camp Nurse / EMT

Camp Nurse/EMT
Job Description Summary:
The camp nurse or EMT is a licensed physician, registered nurse, emergency medical technician, or paramedic who is responsible to supervise health care when camp is in session, and who creates and updates a written health care plan for use at camp. He or she will train program staff to identify their roles in camp health care and will oversee the camp health house during each camp session.

Job Description Summary:
The Summer Program Director Is responsible for the programmatic operation and oversight of Camp Marshall’s Summer programs. Doing this by building a team of eighteen paid staff with additional volunteers to help us deliver program for 24 to 50 persons (depending on the program).
