Claire's Campers
A gift in memory of Claire Willis. Claire was a camper and staff member at Camp
Marshall for many years. As a way to honor Claire’s memory, her family has asked our staff to
select a Senior High camper from who exemplifies Claire’s commitment to extending grace
and generosity to those around her, encouraging others, and pursuing new (or deepening existing)
interests at camp.
The “Claire’s Campers” award was established by Claire’s family in celebration of a set of “rules
for life” by which Claire lived. Those rules are listed below.
Claire’s family encourages recipients of this campership to live more deeply into any of Claire’s rules that connect with opportunities in your own life, and to consider how God might be calling you to live faithfully
and joyfully in your context.
Claire’s Rules for Life:
- You get the family you got. Love them hard, love them long.
- Cook, use good ingredients, and share meals with friends.
- Choose good friends and make them your tribe forever.
- Cast a wide net with your interests.
- Even silly routines count; cultivate comforting ones.
- Go fishing….lots!
Bishop Brookhart Scholarship
Established by Bishop Brookhart as a fund to support campers. Each year, a camper is selected by Bishop Marty Stebbins.
Other funds are available
We don't want the cost of camp to be a barrier. If financial assistance not described above would make it easier to get your camper here, we'd love to help. Please get in touch for more information.
