Calling for Volunteers

“Here am I Lord” The opening to a song many of us know and have sung at a campfire. It is a romantic song and one that calls to mind one or more times when we have answered God’s call to action.

This summer, Camp Marshall needs your help. We have put together a vision of bridging 2020 (where we had to close due to COVID) with Family Camps on our way to 2022.

To date we have five staff who have answered the call and will be here to meet and serve our children and families. Our original goal was 10 staff, so we are very close.

We are, however, in need of more help which is why you are receiving this email.

What we NEED to fill out the summer: -

Program Support Staff

We will need 2-3 persons per week.

o Boating: who have experience in boating to serve as a “second” as part of a plan to help with a rescue if one is needed. Each watercraft that travels needs to have a lifeguard and another “spotter” or person who has practiced helping pull someone out of the water if a lifeguard has to “go in. This is a very “rare” need – however it is important.

o Arts and Crafts: There is always an interest in friendship bracelets, tie dye and art. If you are interested, it would be great to have you here.

Hospitality Volunteers:

o We will need one to two hospitality staff each week to help in the kitchen. That can range from helping cook to setting and clearing tables. We do ask persons in this role to obtain a servsafe food handler card (online class is available). There is a $15 fee which the camp will reimburse.

We will need two – three Persons each week.

What you will need to do:

Anyone who volunteers MUST apply through our online application.

Safeguarding God’s People Training

· Once you have been accepted you will need to complete several online modules of training for safeguarding God’s People. The courses are easy and can be done at your own pace.

At this time, I am asking you to pray about serving as a volunteer this summer.

If you are called to serve at Camp Marshall, my hope and prayer is that your response is “Here I am Lord”.

If you have questions or need any more details, please call me directly.
